In a unique and complex logistics operation, AMIT Group successfully led the transfer of 15 trucks donated by the Government of Italy to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), for humanitarian use in the Gaza Strip.

The project was launched at an official event attended by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, and Shaul Schneider, Chairman of the Ashdod Port Board.

The operation included customs clearance at Ashdod Port and required coordination with multiple regulatory and security authorities, including Israel Customs and the IDF’s District Coordination and Liaison (DCL) unit, due to the trucks' classification as sensitive security cargo. The approval process involved detailed documentation, special permits, and both physical and security inspections.

As the trucks did not meet Israeli road regulations and could not drive on public roads, they were transported on trailers provided by four different equipment suppliers.

The land transport from Ashdod to the Kerem Shalom border crossing had to be completed within a strict two-day window, to meet the Israeli military’s requirement that all trucks arrive and cross into Gaza simultaneously.

To meet this tight schedule and ensure full compliance with all regulatory and security requirements, Amit Group worked around the clock, including over the weekend, to complete the project successfully at the beginning of the week.
